How do I price my crochet items?
Add materials and your hours at an hourly rate, then add profit and the platform's fees. $27 of supplies and 10 hours at $15 is $177, which is $196.08 on Etsy so you still keep $177.
What are Etsy's fees?
A US$0.20 listing fee, a 6.5% transaction fee and, through Etsy Payments, 3% + $0.25 processing for US shops and for Canadian shops on domestic and US orders.
Why does my price go up more than the fee?
Fees are charged on the final price, including the part that covers the fees. The calculator grosses up the price so what you keep is what you wanted.
What hourly rate should I charge?
At least your local minimum wage. Many makers start there and add profit on top for tools, photos, selling time and slow months.
Should I include shipping?
Etsy's transaction fee applies to shipping too, so if you charge shipping separately, price it to cover the label plus 6.5% and processing.
